The Department of Breast Surgery originated from the Department of Surgery founded in 1967, and after merging with the Second Department of Surgery (General Surgery) and the Department of Endocrine Surgery in 2015, we became independent as the Department of Breast Surgery in 2021 and has been newly organized to this day.
The Department of Breast Surgery is in charge of diagnosis, treatment (surgery and drug therapy), education, and research of breast cancer and other breast diseases as our specialty, and also strives to practice advanced medical care in close collaboration with related departments in breast reconstruction, radiation therapy, drug therapy, palliative medicine, genetic diagnosis, and others.
We provide students with a wide range of knowledge and skills in the field of breast surgery and to foster the ability to plan and conduct scientifically and ethically appropriate cutting-edge research on their own.
We aim to nurture clinicians, researchers and educators who are well versed in the field of breast surgery and who contribute to society with a high sense of ethics and a sense of mission.
